Whether you work in the wine industry, have a team which needs to be educated and motivated, or just love wine and want to learn more, we’ve got a range of courses to teach you about wine.
Our courses are part of the Wine and Spirit Education Trust programme, giving you a nationally recognised qualification at the end of the course.
The courses are run by our Education Officer, Serena Young. Serena started her career as a chef, then went into lecturing, latterly concentrating on WSET courses.

We run a series of awards for high achieving students on our courses, designed to motivate and reward our most talented participants. The awards are presented at our North West Annual Luncheon.
All participants of our Advanced Certificate courses get a year’s free membership with the NWWSA.

Intermediate Certificate
The Intermediate Certificate teaches you the basics, and is suitable for those working in the drinks industry, as well as those who just love wine. It teaches you how to taste wine; about key grapes; key regions; and wine making techniques.
